Bobby was a Third Dan Black Belt and had been doing karate for about eleven years at the Jon Jepson Black Belt Academy. It was a large part of his life with regular training and competing. The news of his passing was a major shock to the academy and the lifelong friends he had made there so the academy held a 9 hour training seminar in memory of Bobby. It took place over a weekend, starting with a 6am fitness session on the Saturday morning and then 9 hours of continuous training in a different area of martial arts each hour on the Sunday. The weekend challenged Bobby’s friends, family and fellow training partners and karate students to push themselves and go that little bit extra in their training to make Bobby proud. His determined and motivated nature was channelled through all those that knew and trained with him over the years, which made it an amazing weekend! With donation buckets and a raffle draw with some generously donated prizes, the weekend raised £475 for Cardiac Risk in the Young and £475 for Clic Sargent.
