February the 22nd/23rd saw The Bobby Dorka Foundation Trust’s first event- the 24 Hour Pool Marathon. Over the 24 hours, people came along to show our team support to carry on going and for just £1 were able to challenge one of our four players to a game of pool. There were a total of 235 games played with at least one of our four players playing at all times. There was also a raffle drawn with kindly donated prizes including VIP tickets to see The Wanted, the Nottingham Panthers ice hockey team and England vs Denmark at Wembley Stadium.
The day was a great success with over £303.20 raised on the day through challenges, £309 on the raffle and donations. A further £1326 was raised through sponsors collected by the four players. The event raised an amazing £1938.20!
Our aim of fulfilling Bobby’s wish to help as many individuals as possible would not be possible without all the continuous support we are receiving so we are extremely appreciative to all those who were involved in making our first event a massive success. We thank each and every one of you who came along to show support and generously donated!
