It will be the fourth 24 hour pool Marathon held to raise money for the BDF. Six people will challenge anyone and each other for 24 hours straight. With the simple rules of one of the six persons taking part has to be actively playing within the 24 hours and not leave the table. Games must be recorded with individual wins and games played. The person who wins the most games in the marathon wins.
This is where your sponsorship moneys comes in, please sponsor one of our six players to go the distance of 24 hours of pool and win the most games in that time frame. Pool rules will be decided before the event and in case of a tie there will be a re-rack until a winner is decided. To challenge our six Pool players it will cost just £1.
The marathon will take place at Sinfin Moor Social Club, Arleston Lane, DE24 3DH at 1pm on the 12th May 2018 – 13th May 1pm.
Thank you to everyone that took part in this year’s successful Kickathon! The event was held again for the second year on Saturday 3rd February where teams of 5 took on the challenge of someone from the team constantly kicking for a whole hour. It was a fun team event that anyone could join in with and raised a total of £1052!
The BDFT would like to say a massive thank you to Castle Martial Arts for their continuous support and to everyone who donated and helped make this year’s event another successful one!
For the third year, the 24 hour pool marathon was great success. We would like to thank everyone involved in this year’s event, which began on the 11th March at the Sinfin Social Club, Derby.
We are extremely appreciative of all those who donated through playing games of pool and buying raffle tickets. We would also like to thank the Sinfin Social Club for hosting the event and of course, the 6 players who endured the whole 24 hours!
Final amounts raised at the event will be added soon.
The continuous support is amazing to see and we can only imagine how proud Bobby must be.
With thanks to James Sheehan from Castle Martial Arts and George Carter from JJBBA, October 1st and 2nd 2016 saw a group of brave individuals running and walking from Sheffield to Derby – a gruelling 46 miles!
With individuals of all ages setting themselves personal goals to either complete the entire route or a part of it, the weekend was a massive challenge. It took a lot of courage and determination with the memory of Bobby being the driving force for many of the runners/walkers.
If conquering this personal challenge wasn’t enough, everyone involved did an amazing job at collecting sponsorships and donations, with the total amount raised for the event currently standing at £6,194!
As a charity, we have set a target of raising £25,000 by 21st March 2017 as this will mark Bobby’s 25th birthday. Through your generous donations and sponsors so far, we currently stand at £15,000. Therefore, the target for this event is £10,000 so we would be extremely grateful for your help in achieving this. Thank you.
On behalf of the BDFT, we would like to thank everyone who was involved in this event; whether that was through running/walking, donating or supporting and encouraging the runners/walkers – Thank you!
